Craig Sauers — Writer & Editor

I’m an Indiana-born, Bangkok-based freelance writer and editor. I like to write about travel, culture, heritage preservation, food, and drinks, but I’ve covered lots of other topics, too. My stories have appeared in BBC Travel, Lonely Planet, the Nikkei Asia Review, The Times, the Michelin Guide, PUNCH, and many other print and digital magazines. You can read some of them here.
I also publish Critical Drinking, a newsletter about beer, drinking culture, and alcohol-related issues.
Apart from feature writing, I have worked on dozens of branded content campaigns with NBCUniversal Catalyst, BBC StoryWorks, Haymarket, CNN Create, and others.
In a past life, I was managing editor of BK, Bangkok’s most popular city magazine, and food and drink editor of Time Out Hong Kong.
When I’m not training for a marathon or cracking open a tall boy, I like to unwind with a good book, play the guitar, and get lost in new places. I’ve been to 40-plus countries and hope to visit more soon.
If you would like to know more about me, my writing, or working with me, you can reach me at craig@craigsauers.com or cksauers@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you.
